"light at the end of the tunnel"
One day I had to go to church because I had a meeting. It had just turned night and none of the lights had turned on yet. When I went to open the door of the courtyard that led to the main door of the office, it was completely dark. I took a step back and was about to go back to my car figuring that maybe the meeting had been canceled when I saw a faint light. It was barley peeking through the bottom crease of the main door entrance. That faint light coming from the crease was all that I needed to step into the courtyard towards the unlocked door. All I had to do was follow the light. I was reminded of the famous cliche that "there is always a light at the end of the tunnel." If you feel that you have opened your courtyard door and are standing in the midst of the darkness, take a moment and look for the light. If you have to take a step back and analyze your circumstances, so be it. Look for that light and follow it. As I was walking to the main door, my eyes began to adjust to the darkness and I was able to see more clearly my surroundings. It wasn't as dark as I thought it was. Take a step of faith forward and move to the light that God has called you. Whether is that new job opening, leading a new ministry, ending an unfruitful relationship, opening up your own business, or what ever else it might be. And see if you will not realize that it is not as dark as you may have thought. Its funny how with no physical body of its own, fear has the power to hold you down. Moses had to step into the Red Sea before it parted and Peter had to get out of the boat to walk on water.

He desires you

The King has His eye on YOU
Song of Solomon 2:8-10
Look! Listen! There's my lover!
Do you see him coming?
Vaulting the mountains,
leaping the hills.
My lover is like a gazelle, graceful;
like a young stag, virile.
Look at him there, on tiptoe at the gate,
all ears, all eyes—ready!
My lover has arrived
and he's speaking to me!
Can you hear the voice of your King calling out to you! Can you see Him coming for you over the mountains. He desires you. When king Solomon set his eyes on the dark skinned Shulamite girl working the fields, he loved her at first glance. Though she was ashamed of her dark skin because of all the days she worked in the field under the sun, the king called her “fairest among women”. He did not see her for her looks or her PAST.
Song of Solomon 1:11
I'm making jewelry for you, gold and silver jewelry
that will mark and accent your beauty
.
His desire was to dress her and jewel her; make her royalty. So the king disguised himself as a shepherd and unexpectedly won her love. He later revealed himself as King Solomon. He brought her to his palace in Jerusalem where their love unfolded into the most passionate and romantic affair ever told. He was willing to do anything not to live his life with out her.
The Kings eye is on YOU. He fell in love with you at first glance before the foundations of this world and couldn’t stop thinking of you. So your King traded His crown of gold for a crown of thorns and walked this earth as a man. He saw your face before dying on the cross and knew that he would rather die than live for eternity without YOU by His side.
The Kings eye is on you, He desires to take you from the fields to His palace, and from peasantry to royalty. Be captured by Him today, He desires YOU.

Surrender...

She ran for cover in the midst of the night; there was not a light in sight. Only the faint beam of the half moon that faintly lit her path. Panting, heart-pounding, she continued running. The sounds of her thief never fading but getting closer with each breath and step she took. Shes been running through seasons-all winter, spring and summer long. Once again, her gown catches between the bristle of the forest wood. She leaves behind a satin fabric twisted between the malicious thorns. Her favorite gown ripped; its hem covered in dirt and grime. Patches missing from various moments of close captivity. Her red hair ribbon whispers in the midnight chilling breeze as she continues running for shelter....protection...a moment of security. The thief comes for her golden shaped pendant that she securely wears locked around her neck. Hes after her golden heart. He claims the torn pieces of her gown- slightly content that he has captured a piece of her. A part of her, he exclaims, that she can never recover. She grasps the pendant firmly in her hands and continues running. Her legs are growing weary and she fears that she may at any moment surrender and stop running.

There is a thief that is out to steal your heart. He doesn't sleep or rest, and day and night he plans his attack. Running fast and far is useless; unless we give our heart over to the Protector the chase will never end. There is an unseen battle between two forces for the precious victory of your heart. The thief will steal it from you-break it and leave you broken. The Protector longs to make it whole, to nourish and water your heart like a faithful gardener would do for his garden of precious roses. If you are tired of running, rest and surrender your heart to your Protector. He can mend your torn gown and make you whole. Recover all the pieces of your soul that were torn amongst the bristles as you ran for cover. He will guard your heart and hide it in a place where the thief can never enter. Hidden from the thief who knows and fears you, and all you can be.
